air weighs less than water ;will the pressure exerted by the water will be greater thann the pressure exerted by the same volume of air.give reasons to support ur answer.

Pressure exerted by water or air may be found by knowing its weight and dividing that by the surface area on which they are putting pressure.

Pressure =  Weight / surface area  = volume * density / surface area

If volume and surface area are constant, then pressure is directly proportional to density.  As water is of higher density, it exerts more pressure.
