Correct Question :- Ajay and Anil are a joint venture partner. Ajay employs 8000 rupees for 4 months in business and Anil employs money for the remaining 8 months. If Anil gets 20% of profit at the end of the year, how much money did Anil invest ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that Anil invest Rs. x for remaining 4 months .

So,

→ Ajay invest in business = Rs. 8000

→ Time = 4 months

→ Profit gets = 20% of total profit at the end of the year .

and,

→ Anil invest in business = Rs. x

→ Time = 8 months

→ Profit gets = 80% of total profit at the end of the year . { Remaining profit . }

we know that,

  • Profit ratio = Investment × Time period .

So,

→ Ajay's profit : Anil's profit = Ajay's investment × Time : Anil's investment × Anil's Time

→ 20 : 80 = 8000 × 4 : x × 8

→ 1 : 4 = 4000 : x

→ 1/4 = 4000/x

→ x = 4000 × 4

→ x = Rs. 16000 (Ans.)

Hence, Anil invest Rs. 16000 in the business .
