Step-by-step explanation:

Let age of son=x

Ajay's age=4x

After 16 years,

4x+16=2(x+16)

4x+16=2x+32

4x-2x=32-16

2x=16

x=8=son's age

ajay's age =4x=4(8)=32 years

Let present age of Ajay be "x" years.

And present age of son be "y" years.

ATQ

x = 4y

x - 4y = 0---------(1)

ATQ

x + 16 = 2(y + 16)

x + 16 = 2y + 32

x - 2y = 16--------(2)

Using elimination method,

x - 2y = 16

x - 4y = 0

________

(-) (+) (-)

2y = 16

So, y = 8

Put y = 8 in -----(1)

So, x - 32 = 0

So, x = 32

So present age of ajay is 32 years.
