Ajay is locked out of his house and the only way in is through an open window 25 feet
above ground. There’s a bush along the edge of the house, so the ladder has to be placed
10 feet away from the house. The neighbor has a ladder 27 feet long. Will Ajay be able to
enter his house?

Answer:

Yes ,Ajay will be able to get into his house.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ladder, the window & the ground form a right triangle.

The ground is the base of right angled triangle

The distance from the ground to the window is the height of right angled triangle

The ladder acts as the hypotenuse of right angled triangle

By Pythagoras theorem, states that the square of the length of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of squares of the lengths of other two sides of the right-angled triangle.

By above definition, we get,

c^2 = a^2 + b^2c

Where "c" represents hypotenuse

"a" represents the base of the right angled triangle

"b" represents the height of the right angled triangle

Here "a" = 10 ; "b" = 25 and "c" = 27

Now, we just need to see that "a^2 + b^2 = c^2" or not

If proved equal then only Ajay will be able to enter his house.

c^2 = 25^2 + 10^2

or, c^2 = 625 + 100

or, c^2 = 725

or, c = √725

or, c = 26.92....

or,. c = 27

Therefore, now Length of ladder (i.e. 27 feet) is equal to "c"

Ans :- Hence, Proved Ajay will be able to get into his house through the window using his neighbour's ladder.
