Given : Ajay walked 3 km towards North. Then he took left turn and walk 6 km. Finally he took a right turn and walk 5 km

To Find : minimum distance from the starting point to ending point

Solution:

        NORTH

WEST            EAST

       SOUTH

Ajay walked 3 km towards North

NORTH = 3  km

took left turn and walk 6 km

Left turn from North is West

WEST = 6 km

a right turn and walk 5 km

Right turn from West means North

NORTH = 5 km

Total NORTH = 3 + 5 = 8 km

Total WEST = 6  km

NORTH & WEST are perpendicular to each other

Minimum Distance = √8² + 6²

= √64 + 36

= √100

= 10

minimum   distance from the starting point to ending point = 10 km
