Always remember, average speed=total distance travelled/total time taken

So in this case, total time is 95mins=95/60 hrs

Dist travelled in first half= speed×time

=8×45/60=6km. (I have used conversion of minutes into seconds)

Dist travelled in second half=12×40/60=8km

Now total distance=8+6=14km

And time=95/60hrs

So average speed=14/(95/60)

= 8.84km/h

Hope this helps
