Gautam bought 30 kg of rice at rupees 25 per kg.

Cost Price of 30 kg of rice = Rs (25 × 30) = Rs 750

40 kg of rice at rupees 28 per kg.

Cost Price of 40 kg rice = Rs (28 × 40) = Rs 1120

Total weight of both the varieties of rice = (30 + 40) kg = 70 kg

Total cost price of both the varieties of rice = Rs (750 + 1120) = Rs 1870

Selling price of 70 kg of rice at 36 per/kg

= Rs (70 × 36) = Rs 2520

Selling price of rice is greater than the Cost price of rice. Therefore, Gain.

Gain = S.P - C.P

= Rs (2520 - 1870)

= Rs 650

Hence,

His gain in whole transaction = Rs 650
