Answer:

The simple principle for a democracy should be of the people, by the people and for the people.

India is the largest democracy in the world. In every 5 years election held to choose government. Prime minister is the head of government while President is the head of state. In India we have the federal form having both a government at the center responsible to the parliament and governments in the states elected and equally responsible to their legislative assemblies. That's why after independence from Britain when most of the countries have to face civil war & dictatorship, India emerge as fully democratic country like USA & UK.

India is one of the countries which gave the right to vote for all Indian citizens, right after the independence.

It is true that, in spite of various efforts, democracy has failed to fulfill human-being’s expectations. It has failed to completely eradicate poverty, injustices, social-evils and inequalities from the Indian society.

However, we must keep in mind that there is no better form of government than a Democratic government. It is better form of government than dictatorship and monarch rule. There is no better alternative to democracy. To create a better society and nation, the people of India along with the union and state governments should come together to fight against the miseries of human life.
