let's consider Akaashs present age to be X , and Akanshas present age to be Y.

from the question we understand 4Y = 3X ( equation 1 )

( Akaash will be 4 times Akanshas age , while Akansha will be 3 times Akaashs age )

Akaash is 4 years elder to Akansha

so , (X = Y+4) (equation 2)

now substitute equation 2 in equation 1

4Y =3X

4Y = 3(Y+4)

4Y= 3Y+12

4Y-3Y=12

Y =12

now , 4(12) = 3Y

48=3Y

Y =16

SUM OF THEIR PRESENT AGE = 12 +16= 28
