After the death of Babur, the founder of Mughal Empire his son Humayun succeeded him who was later defeated by an Afghan named Shershah Suri in 1540 and founded the Suri or Afghan dynasty. The dynasty ruled till 1556 when the Mughals under Akbar again established their rule in India.
