Akhil covered a distance of 15 km in 60 minutes. He covered first part of the journey by walking at 4.5

km/h and the rest of the journey by a car at 30 km/h. Find the distance covered by the car.​

Average speed = 15/1= 15km/h

Let Akhil covered distance by walk be x

then distance by car be 15-x

x/4.5 + 15-x/30= 1

10x/45+ 15-x/30= 1

{20x+3(15-x)}/90= 1

20x+45-3x=90

17x=45

x= 45/17=2.6km (approximately)
