let ,Akhil covered the distance by car = x hour

》Akhil covered the distance by walking
= (1-x) hour
accourding to question:-

Distance = time×speed

》30x+ 4.5(1-x) = 15

》30x + 4.5 - 4.5x = 15

》25.5x = 15 - 4.5

》x = 10.5/22.5

Akhil covered the distance by car = 30x

》= 30× 11.5/22.5 =( 12.5 km) ans

Answer:

Akhil covered 12.6 km by car.

Step-by-step explanation:

It was given that Akhil covered a total distance of 15 km in 1 hour. He traveled by walk at speed of 4.5 km/hr and then he travelled by car at speed of 30 km/hr.

Let the time taken by Akhil to cover distance by car be x hours.

The time taken for covering by walk is (1-x) hours, as total time is 1 hour. so time for walking is total time - time travelled by car.

As Distance = Time × speed

Here distance is 15 km,

Time taken is x and (1-x)

speed is 30 km/hr and 4.5 km/hr.

Let us find the time taken for distance covered by car,x

15= 30x + 4.5(1-x)

15= 30x + 4.5 - 4.5x

15= 30x - 4.5x + 4.5

15= 25.5x + 4.5

15-4.5= 25.5x

x = 10.5/25.5

Therefore x= 0.42

Distance covered by Akhil by car is 30x.

= 30× 0.42.

= 12.6km .

Therefore the distance covered by Akhil by car is 12.6km.
