Answer: 12.3 km
Step-by-step explanation:
Let the distance covered by car = x km
Therefore distance covered by walking = 15-x ( Bcoz total distance is 15 km)
Speed = distance / time
So time = distance / speed
Time taken by Akhil to cover distance 15-x by walking at the speed of 4.5 kmph
Tw = (15-x)/4.5
Similarly
Time taken by Akhil to cover distance x by car at speed 30kmph
Tc = x/30
According to question total time taken by him is 60 min .i.e 1 hour
Therefore Tw + Tc = 1
(15-x)/4.5 + x/30 = 1
On solving x = 210/17 = 12.3 km
