Answer :-

Akash said that the sound travel 1480m in one second in water whereas his friend said that sound travel only 1.48km in a second, both statemenets are right because Akash is telling the distance in meters  and  his friend is telling the same thing in kilometres.

☆Verification☆

1 Meter (m) is equal to 0.001 kilometre (km). To convert meters to km, multiply the meter value by 0.001 or divide by 1000.

Therefore 1480m = 1480/1000 = 1.48

Hence,by this we get to know that both Akash and his friend were right

☆Know more☆

In the metric system of measurement, the most common units of distance are millimeters, centimeters, meters, and kilometres

  • 1 cm = 10 mm
  • 1 m  = 100 cm
  • 1m = 1000mm
  • 1km =  100000cm
