Given :- Akshay, Bimal and Chirag work on a construction project. All of them work with equal efficiency and can together complete the project in 20 days. If only 2 of them work on it at a time and all of them spend equal days to complete the project, how many days would each one of them work for, to complete the work ?

Solution :-

given that, efficiency of all of them is same.

So,

Let us assume that, they all do x unit of work daily .

now, given that, all together complete the project in 20 days.

Than,

→ 1/x + 1/x+ 1/x = 1/20

→ 3/x = 1/20

→ x = 60 units .

Now, it has been said only 2 of them work on it at a time to complete the project .

Therefore,

→ Total days take by 2 of them at a time = (1/60+ 1/60) = 1/30 = 30 days.

we can say that, It will take total 30 days to complete the project when they work two at a time . { Like AB, BC, CA } .

Hence, we can say that, they took (10 + 10) days each to complete the project.

each worked for 20 days.
