Answer:
Aluminum is the most reactive metal and can displace copper (Cu), iron (Fe), and zinc (Zn) from their solutions.
When Al metal is added to CuSO₄:
- The blue solution becomes colorless.
- The copper metal (reddish-brown) gets accumulated.
- Al + CuSO₄ → AlSO₄ + Cu
When Al metal is added to FeSO₄:
- The green solution becomes colorless.
- The iron metal (greyish black) gets accumulated.
- 3 FeSO₄ (aq) + 2 Al (s) → Al₂(SO₄)₃ (aq) + 3 Fe (s)
When Al metal is added to ZnSO₄:
- No change in the solution.
- Greyish zinc metal accumulates on Aluminium metal.
- Al + ZnSO₄ → AlSO₄ + Zn
