We have ,

A = 88 cm²

r = ?

We know that :

Curved surface of the right circular cylinder

\sf=2\pi\:r\:h

Put the given values

\sf\:88=2\times\dfrac{22}{7}\times\:r\times14

\sf\:88=2\times22\times\:2\times\:r

\sf\:r=\dfrac{88}{88}

\sf\:r=1cm

Now ,

Diameter of the base of the culino

= 2× Radius of the cylinder

= 2× 1 = 2 cm

Therefore, The diameter of the base of the cylinder is 2 cm .
