Aluminium will not precipitate out as its sulphide (Al2S3) from an aqueous solution of its salt even if it is neutral or alkaline. This is because Al2S3 is a moisture-sensitive compound and it easily reacts with water releasing H2S gas. Mineral acids like HCl should decompose Al2S3 even more vigorously than pure water.
