1. At melting point of solid, the solids are converted into liquids. During melting the kinetic energy of the particles of the solids increases due to increase in temperature. Due to this the intermolecular forces of attraction in solids decreases and thus solids are converted into liquids

2. BOILING. When a liquid is heated, the particles are given more energy. They start to move faster and further apart. At a certain temperature, the particles break free of one another and the liquid turns to gas
