ANSWER:

The chapter 'Albert Einstein at School' is an extract from 'The Young Einstein' by Patrick Pringle. It can be understood from the chapter that Albert Einstein was struggling at school with his studies. Actually, he was more interested in mathematics, which not given importance in his school.

The chapter begins with an encounter of Albert Einstein with his history teacher. The teacher asked young albert about a particular date of an event of the past. But, Albert could not answer it as he was not at all interested about the happenings of the past. Instead, he told everyone that whatever is taught in school in not relevant and these teachings does not provide proper education. This results in young Albert getting punished by his teacher.

It can be seen that little Albert was not happy in his neighbourhood due to all the violence that occurred. He informed about his worries to his cousin Elsa, who advised him put more efforts to overcome his situation.

Young Albert came up with a plan to get out of school. He involved a doctor in his plan and wanted him to know that he had a nervous breakdown and asked to prescribe that the root cause of the problem was school. Albert's friend Yuri agreed to help him with the plan as he had friend who was a newly qualified doctor. The doctor understood Albert's situation and thus handed his medical certificate. In return, the doctor asked Albert to take Yuri out for supper, which Albert did even if he did not have enough money. Next, Albert went to meet his mathematics teacher in order to get a referral for admission into college for pursuing higher studies in mathematics. Then, he went to the head teacher who told him to walk away. Albert had studied all the mathematics taught at school and also gained some extra knowledge on mathematics. He bid farewell to his friend Yuri and came out of school.
