Alberta truck of mass 20000 kg hits a bus of mass 15000 kg on a straight horizontal Road initial velocity of the loaded truck and the bus are 36 kilometre per hour and 27 kilometre per hour in opposite direction and after collision the bus moves at 20 km per hour along the same direction then what will be the velocity of the loaded truck

27 × 5/18 = 7.5 m/s

36 × 5/18 = 10 m/s

20 × 5/18 = 5.56m/s

Momentum = mass × Velocity

Initial momentum = 10 × 20000 + 7.5 × 15000 = 200000 + 112500 = 312500

Final momentum = 15000 × 5.56 + 20000 × v

= 83400 + 20000V

Initial momentum = Final momentum

312500 = 83400 + 20000V

229100 = 20000V

V = 229100/20000

V = 11.455 m/s

Answer:27 × 5/18 = 7.5 m/s

36 × 5/18 = 10 m/s

20 × 5/18 = 5.56m/s

Momentum = mass × Velocity

Initial momentum = 10 × 20000 + 7.5 × 15000 = 200000 + 112500 = 312500

Final momentum = 15000 × 5.56 + 20000 × v

= 83400 + 20000V

Initial momentum = Final momentum

312500 = 83400 + 20000V

229100 = 20000V

V = 229100/20000

V = 11.455 m/s
