Alcl3 exists as dimer in vapour state while bcl3 is not

because in BCl3 boron belongs to 2nd period and doesn't has empty d orbital and hence cannot expand its octet while in case of Al it has vacant 3d orbital which can be used for bonding and thus dimerization
