IT IS BECAUSE THE RANGE OF BOILING AND MELTING POINT OF ALCOHOL IS LESS THAN THAT OF MERCURY AND SO IT CANNOT MEASURE VERY LOW OR VERY LARGE TEMPERATURES BUT MERCURY CAN
