Action of Na with ethyl alchohol

2CH3CH2OH +Na=2CH3CH2ONa +H2

Weak acid  of the acetate acid as compared to HCL is because of its low ionization but it more acidic than the alcohol is  because of the more stability of the ion formed after the removal of the proton (H+) .It  evolve the hydrogen gas and when react with sodium metal. .
