Aldehyde
When an aldehyde group is attached with alkyle group the compound is called an aldehyde. For example HCHO(methanal) CH3CHO(ethanal).
Ketone
In a ketone the carboxylic carbon is double bonded to an oxygen and single bond to two alkyle group. Both group should be alkyle if either of the group or both groups are H it become an aldehyde.

Carboxylic acid
In carboxylic acid atom is attached to an oxygen atom by a double bond and to hydroxil group by a single bond.
The fourth bond links carbon atom with hydrogen atom.
For example etanoic acid.
