Given : Alekhya borrowed Rs. 8000 at 5% per annum simple interest.

Each year she pays Rs. 800 for interest and part of debt,

Tp Find : the amount that will be left to be paid back at the end of 3 years.

Solution:

Amount = Rs 8000

Interest for 1st Year  = 8000 * 5 * 1/100 =  Rs 400

Paid = Rs 800

Interest = 400 , Against Principal = 800 - 400 = Rs 400

Amount Left = 8000 - 400 = Rs 7600

interest for 2nd year  =  7600 * 5  * 1/100  = 380  Rs

Interest = 380 , Against Principal = 800 - 380 = Rs 420

Amount Left = 7600 - 420  = 7180 Rs

interest for 3rd year  =  7180 * 5  * 1/100  = 359  Rs

Amount at the end of 3rd year = 7180 + 359

= Rs 7539

if 800 Paid considered then  Amount

= 7539 - 800

= 6739 Rs
