Alexa has some trees in her garden. The trees need to be watered at different times. The oak needs to be watered every 10 days. The pine needs to be watered every 18 days. The birch needs to be watered every 54 days. Given that all three were watered today, how many more times will the pine tree have been watered when the trees are next watered on the same day?

Answer:

15 times more.

Step-by-step explanation:

The oak tree is watered every 10 days.

The pine tree is watered every 18 days.

The birch tree is watered every 54 days.

All the trees are watered in some x days.

Now, the L.C.M of 10, 18, 54 = x

L.C.M of 10, 18, 54 = 270  => x = 270

So they will all be watered on 270 th day

i.e, today is 270 th day

Till today the pine tree is watered 15 times, i.e, 18 x 15 = 270

Next time they will all be watered on the 270 x 2 = 540 th day.

So the pine tree will be totally watered for 30 times, i.e, 18 x 30 = 540

Therefore the pine tree will be watered for 15 more times for the next day when all three plants are watered
