Answer: x = 5

               y = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

No. of candies = x

Money spent on x candies = y

Cost of (a + 10) candies = Rs. 2

x, y are integer and y< 2 → y = 1

According to the condition,

(\frac{100}{x}) - (\frac{200}{x+10} ) = \frac{80}{12}   \\12(100x + 1000 - 200x)=80 (x)(x+10)\\12000 - 100x = 80x^{2}  + 800x\\80x^{2} +900x-12000 = 0\\4x^{2}  + 45x - 600 =0 \\\\

Solving it we get x = 5
