Helen Keller's time in Radcliffe saw her face many difficulties when it came to keeping up with the normal abled students. It took her more time to learn the different subjects and her progress did not pick up speed until the arrival of the embossed books. Even then she faced very many difficulties with algebra and geometry. She had to use straight and curved wires to understand the fundamentals of geometry. Credit also goes to Mr Merton S. Keith, who tutored her and brought about her progress.
