x = 6 + y \\  \\ i.e \:  x - y = 6 \: equation \: (1)
perimeter of rectangle=
2 \times length + breadth
2 \times x + y = 60 \\ x + y = 60  \div 2 \\ x + y = 30 \:  \:  \:  \: equation \: (2)
adding equation 1 and 2

we get,

x - y = 6 + x - y = 30 \\  \\  x = 18 \\  \\  \\ substituting \: x = 18 \: in \: equation \: 1
x - y = 6 \\ 18 - y = 6 \\ y = 18 + 6 \\ y = 24
therefore length of the rectangle is 18cm and its breadh is 24cm
