Find the sum of :-

i) 3x² + 4x , 5x² - 3x and 2x - 4x².

Solution:-

3x² + 4x + 5x² - 3x + 2x - 4x²

Arranging according to degrees.

3x² + 5x² - 4x² + 4x - 3x + 2x

8x² - 4x² + 4x + 2x - 3x

4x² + 6x - 3x

4x² + 3x

(or)

x(4x + 3).

Know more :-

1) (a + b)² = a² + 2ab + b²

2) (a - b)² = a² - 2ab + b²

3) (a + b) × (a - b) = a² - b²

4) a² + b² = (a + b)² - 2ab

5) a² + b² = (a - b)² + 2ab

Solution:

= 4x²+3x
