1.(a+b)^2 =a^2+2ab+b^2.
2.(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2.
3.a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)

Here are some of the algebraic identities which are helpful to a 8th standard student and are taught in the school:-
1.
 {(x + y)}^{2} = {x}^{2} + {y}^{2} + 2xy
2.
 {(x - y)}^{2} = {x}^{2} + {y}^{2} - 2xy
3.
(x + y)(x - y) = {x}^{2} - {y}^{2}
4.
(x + a)(x + b) = {x}^{2} + (a + b)x + a \times b

=> Note :- If you are studying in an CBSE board school then only first three are taught and they are important , and if you are studying in an CISCE i.e. ICSE board school then all of the four identities are in the syllabus and they are very important.
