Certain simple algorithm has been used by some college students to remove the fake news from social network data.
In “Hackathon funded by the Facebook and conducted at Princeton University, four college students created an extension which is like chrome browser extension and named it as “FiB: Stop living a lie.”
This programme checks for the authenticity of the posts/pictures and has a little tag which states “verified or not-verified.” “The students have proved that algorithm can be built to determine with reasonable certainty which news is true and which isn’t”.
Facebook also is using an algorithm where a posting done by a user is more than 50 in a day, the user's distribution would be cut down on the network, even if the share has been from a reputable page.
