In the chapter'The letter' , the author has strongly portrayed the emotions of love, compassion and empathy. The protagonist of the story, Ali, was a hunter in the past. He used to kill animals. But after his daughter Miriam left him, he turned a new leaf. He loved his daughter immensely and could not bear the pain of being separated from her. He visited the post office everyday inspite of his fragile health condition. This shows that he is full of love for his daughter Miriam.
