Let the no of stamps samir had be x

Therefore,no of stamps ali had will be (x+88)

A.T.P

x+23 = 7/8 (x+88)

x+23 = 7x/8 + 77

x - 7x/8 = 77 - 23

(8x - 7x)/ 8 = 54

x = 54×8

x = 432

Therefore no of stamps samir had =x= 432

No of stamps ali had = x+88 = 432+88= 520

You can verify your answer by:-

It is said that if samir had 23 more stamps then it will be 7/8 of what ali had

So...7/8 × 520 gives you 455 ...

This means samir will have 455 stamps if 23 more stamps are added to what he had

Now add 23 to what samir had before

432 +23 = 455

Thus your answer is verified!!!

Answer:

Number of stamps Ali has is 520 and number of stamps Samir has is 432.

The explanation of the solution is given below:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of stamps Samir had be x

Then, number of stamps Ali had will be x+88

According to the question ,

x+23=7/8(x+88)

x+23=7x/8+77

x-7x/8=77-23

(8x-7x)/8=54

x=54×8

x=432

As we know, Samir had x stamps, he had 432 stamps.

Similarly, Ali had 88 more than him, so, he had x+88= 520 stamps
