so the present age of ali = 3x

after 3 years age of ali = 3x + 3

similarly age of of john will be x + 3

⅔age of ali after 3 years = age of john after 3 years

therefore

⅔ * 3x + 3 = x + 3

therefore

⅔*3(x + 1) = x + 3

therefore

2(x+1) = x + 3

therefore 2x + 2 = x + 3

2x - x = 3 - 2

therefore x = 1

so present age of john is 1 year

And also present age of ali = 3x

=3(1)

=3 years

so the present age of ali is 3 years
