Ali had been a clever and skilled shikari in his youth and never cared to think of pain he caused to animals and birds. But when his daughter went away he realised the meaning of love and separation. This made him give up hunting. His misery can be seen as a result of his past deeds. But it turns out to be too harsh for he had already realised his mistake and had given up cruel sport.

Although Ali had to face several problems during his path towards the post office for only one sake of getting the letter from his daughter which was the main aim of his journey to post office.whereas a hunter has an aim of killing a particular animal and hence he goes for it and he only concentrates on his aim and become successful in his hunt...... Likewise as Ali was a hunter, his suffering was a result of his habit of ruthless hunting.......
