Let's Understand the Question.
Ali took four beakers, in each beakers he poured equal amounts of water . In Question, What amount of water was remained after each beakers P,Q,R and S . when the piece of fabrics – cotton, wool, silk and polyester.
Answer.
The most absorbed fabric is – Cotton , it means : beaker B will have the very less amount of water in it. As we know :- Cotton is a pure cellulose , a naturally occurring polymer. The negative charged particles will attract water molecules and make cotton absorbs well. Cotton can absorb about 25 times it's weight in water.
If we arrange in order , from most absorbent fabric to least absorbent fabric :
Cotton > Wool > Silk > Polyester. in beakers :
P > Q > R > S .
It means polyester will absorb only little amount of water in beaker, Thus the more water will left in beaker will be 'S'.
Remember : Hydrophilic is a technical term that a textile expert would use to refer the quality of a fabric that will absorb water.
