Ali wasn't an irresponsible father, because for so many years he waited for his daughter Miriam's letter. He had made the post office his pilgrimage place and even though he was insulted by people there, he didn't lose his hopes. He also gave up on his passion of hunting because now he knew the pain of separation when his daughter left him.
