Alice, Brie, Carlos, and Drake are in a footrace. They have numbers pinned on their shirts: #1to Alice, #2 to Brie, #3 to Carlos and #4 to Drake.

When the race ends, none of them place in the same place as their pinned number. Also, Brie finished ahead of Drake, and Carlos finished ahead of Alice.

Based on this, who placed 3rd?

Answer:

Brie is first

Carlos is second

Drake is third

Alice is fourth

Step-by-step explanation:

Brie isn't 2nd and drake isn't 4th and Brie finished ahead of Drake that means that Brie has to be first and Drake could be 2nd and 3rd. Also, carlos isn't 3rd and Alice isn't 1st and Carlos finished ahead of Alice that means that Carlos has to be 2nd since 1st place is acquired. Since Drake could have been both 2nd and 3rd but now since second place is acquired drake has to be 3rd. That leaves Alice who is 4th.
