Given :  Alice priced a curtain for 385 using a mark up of 30% of the cost.

To Find  The original cost of the curtain

mark up rate based on the selling price

Solution:

Cost Price = C

Markup =   (30/100)C = 0.3C

Selling Price = C + 0.3C = 1.3C

1.3C  = 385

=> C = 296.15

Correct option is b.296.15

Markup = 0.3C

Selling Price = 1.3C

mark up rate based on the selling price  = (0.3C/1.3C) * 100

= 23.08 %

Correct option is c.23.08%
