Alkali metals are good reducing agents because alkali metals have only one valence electron in their outermost shell which they can easily lose to attain stability.

Due to this reason they undergo oxidation and other metals with them get reduced and becomes good reducing agents.

The alkali metal have low value of ionization energy which decrease down the group and so can easily lose their valance electrons and thus act as a good reducing agent
