alkenes are more soluble in water than corresponding alkanes..................... urgent answer plzzzzzzz

Becouse, alkenes contains a carbon-carbon double bond. This carbon-carbon double bond changes the physicals properties of alkenes. At room temperatue, alkenes exist in all three phases, solid, liquids, and gases. Melting and boiling points of alkenes are similar to that of alkanes

alkenes have pi bond whereas alkanes do not and pi bond is a weaker bond as compared to sigma bond  and alkanes posess only sigma bonds therefore alkenes are more reactive than alkanes therefore it is easy to break alekene bond than alkane compound so more lattice energy is seen in alkanes as compared to alkenes and hence alkenes ae easily soluble in water as compared to alkanes
