Alkyl halides are more reactive while vinyl halides are less reactive than alkyl halides.Explain

it is so because in vinyl halide there is a resonance between the lone pairs of vinyl halide and benzene ring. partial double bond character develops between carbon and halogen,due to which,the bond cleavage between them becomes difficult.
