According to the poet when the rain falls gently on Earth, everyone welcomes it and hears it. However not everyone is able to understand its soothing feeling, its affectionate, nature and its caring attitude. Only a few like the poet are sensitive to the rain and are inspired by its every mood. He personifies the rain as gentle being that cares the Earth. To him its very arrival is like a welcome song. The poet is sensitive enough to look beyond the obvious and value the blessings that the rain bestows on Earth.

Through these lines, the poet want to convey that when the rain gently touches the windows with its soft figures, it creates a soft noise known as its welcome song. All can hear it but people only with sensitive hearts can understood it while others thought it to be really harsh.
