Formulas

1. average speed = Total distance travelled ÷ Total time taken.

v=s÷t

2. average velocity = initial velocity + final velocity ÷ 2

average velocity = Displacement÷ Total time taken

3. acceleration = change in velocity ÷ time taken

a= v - u÷t

4. v = u+at

5. s = ut + 1/2 at ^2

6. as = v^2 - u^2

Answer:

1. speed = total distance travelled / time required

2.velocity = displacement / time

3.(a) acceleration = change in velocity / time

(b) acceleration = a = final velocity - initial velocity / time

therefore, a = (v-u) / t

4. three equations of motion:-

(a) v = u + at....relation between velocity and time

(b) s = ut + 1/2at square......relation between displacement and time

(c) v square = u square + 2as......relation between displacement and velocity

5. rate of change of momentum = change in momentum / time

( rate of change of momentum = mv - mu / t = m(v-u) / t = ma )
