Hi guys

saprophyte-

  • Saprophytes grow on dead organic matter such as fallen leaves, plant roots and dead wood.
  • They extract carbon dioxide and minerals from it.
  • This category includes many gourmet and medicinal types of mushrooms such as for example white button, shiitake and oyster mushrooms.

parasite-

  1. Parasites grow on living trees and other plants, extracting their nutrients.
  2. Therefore, they are also called the murderers among the mushrooms.
  3. Once the tree or bush has died, the dead matter is cleaned up by the saprophytes.

All fungi are parasite and saprophyte-

Some fungi are saprophytes (get their nutrients from dead organic matter). For example, oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus), shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes), and common button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus).

Some fungi are parasitic (get their nutrients from living organisms while causing the host harm). For example, honey mushrooms (Armillaria), Cordyceps mushrooms, and birch polypore (Fomitopsis). Some are even parasites on other fungi like the lobster mushroom (Hypomyces lactiflourum) that is a parasite of Russula and Lactarius mushrooms.

because some fungi get their nutrients from dead organic matter (saprophytes) however some fungi get their nutrients from living organisms while causing the host harm (parasitic)

Hope it helps you!
