When cricket teams go abroad, the members are allowed to take their wives, even friends
along with them. Does this fact distract them or help them to focus on their game in a
better way? If it is good, why don't we allow our athletes to enjoy the same privilege?

Subject: Effect of taking families while going abroad to play

Dear Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw attention to the bias of the government towards cricketers and ignoring the athletes when it

comes to allowing them to take their wives along with them on foreign tours. An athlete, a gymnast, a cricketer, whosoever goes abroad to represent our country is under pressure to perform. The presence of a loved one around can really boost their confidence. But only cricketers are allowed to take their wives along which depicts the biased nature of the government. Maybe, if athletes are also offered the same, they would perform better and make the country proud. A small gesture of this kind on the part of the government will bring the results of a greater magnitude.

Yours faithfully

Navita
