(i) Probability of a black face card = 1/2

(ii) Probability of a red face card = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

All jacks, queens and kings are removed from a pack of 52 playing cards.

Total number of outcomes = 52 - (3*4) = 52 -12 = 40

Number of red face cards = 2 * 10 = 20

Number of black face cards = 20

(i) Probability of a black face card = 20/40 = 1/2

(ii) Probability of a red face card = 1/2
