plants prepare their food using sunlight, water and carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. the plants are source of food for both humans and herbivores. these herbivores are eaten by large carnivores. so, we can say that all living organisms depend on solar energy because if there is lack of solar energy, plants  would not be able to synthesize food. As a result other organisms depend on plants  would also face starvation
